What is the ideal length of a tutoring session for their child? Well, here are some suggestions: 4 minutes or one hour, whichever is agreed upon by the parents and the child. The child's parents are the ones who get to decide how long a tutoring session should be, not the teacher or the tutor.A tutor could solve such problem by getting written permission from the parent. There is nothing stopping a teacher from giving a good consultation on the time needed for a tutoring session.This is not to say that the child is not to be given adequate instruction. They can also get the number of students in the class and see whether the child's performance merits a further meeting. On occasions, the teachers themselves suggest the amount of time taken by the students for each topic, but only after doing a little bit of research on their own. When the teacher thinks the students can be helped in a variety of ways, they'll request for a session.When a tutor is asked to come for a tutoring session, they should make sure that the teacher is aware of the reason for such appointment. After all, a meeti ng between parents and teacher would only cause confusion, at least to the teacher. If there is any doubt, the teacher should ask the tutor to make up a note card or even send a text message so that there is no mistake about the meeting. The teacher should inform the tutor of the date and time of the session before it happens.The tutor would be able to determine whether the child has any aptitude for the particular topic and would be in a position to improve the task. It is better if the tutor is in a position to take some time out while the tutor is conducting the session for clarification purposes.The amount of time spent on a tutoring session depends on how much homework the child is responsible for. If the child has been in trouble with homework before, a more intensive teaching might be required. Alternatively, if the child is able to handle the homework, a more relaxed teaching might be best.
